Flight bag packing: what all goes in?
Exciting! The due date is getting closer and closer. From week 36, it is smart to have your flight bag ready. The bag that contains everything for during and after giving birth in hospital. So pack it even if you want to give birth at home, because you never know if you will suddenly have to go to hospital. No idea what to put in your flight bag? This checklist will make sure you don't forget anything.
Flight bag, what is it good for?
OK, fleeing may not be quite the right word. You are going into labour and there is no escape. When the time comes, you usually have plenty of time to go to the hospital. But thinking about what you need at the last minute is not going to work. That's why with an emergency bag, everything you need or find useful during childbirth is already packed. Still a nice idea!
When is it time to pack your flight bag?
As most deliveries start between 37 and 42 weeks, you will ideally want to have your escape bag ready by week 36. Earlier is always possible, of course. Because not everything you want to take with you can be packed already, make a note of the last things you want to put in. Put the note with your flight bag. Just check before you leave to make sure you don't forget anything.
